Hi! I am Heather Janes, Dementia Care Specialist for the Aging and Disability Resource of Jefferson County. I have worked with Jefferson County for 5 years, 3 of those years being in this role. I have worked with individuals with memory loss and dementia and their care partners almost my entire life (working in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, senior centers, a workshop for individuals with varying abilities, and volunteer work in home with individuals in my college community). My grandmother passed away 6 years ago this month of Lewy Body Dementia and Alzheimer’s. I love being able to share resources and education with those who need it to support them better on this journey- you are never alone!
